- You are responsible for providing accurate information if requested (e.g., API keys) and for maintaining the confidentiality of any such information. The security of this information, especially if stored locally in your browser, is your responsibility.
- You agree not to impersonate any person or entity or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
- You will not engage in any activity that interferes with or disrupts the Service, its servers, or networks connected to the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, attempting to gain unauthorized access, transmitting viruses or malicious code, or using automated scripts, scrapers, or bots.
- You are responsible for any content you input into the Service (e.g., text prompts, uploaded files) and for ensuring that such content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.
- You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
2. Service Description and Disclaimers
- LinguaLeap provides tools and features to assist with language learning. The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of content generated by or through the Service (including AI-generated translations, explanations, or learning materials) is not guaranteed. The Service is provided for informational and educational entertainment purposes only and should not be solely relied upon for critical decisions.
- THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UPTIME.
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. You use the Service at your own risk. Data you store or transmit through the service may not be secure or private.
- LinguaLeap utilizes third-party APIs (e.g., Google Gemini AI). Your use of features relying on these APIs is also subject to the terms and conditions of those third-party providers. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, performance, or security practices of third-party services.
3. Intellectual Property

By submitting content, you grant LinguaLeap a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify (for formatting or display purposes), and distribute such content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service to you. This license ends when you delete your content or your account, except to the extent your content has been shared with others and they have not deleted it, or where necessary for us to comply with legal obligations or for backup/archival purposes.
4. API Keys and Third-Party Services
- Certain features of LinguaLeap require you to provide your own API key for third-party services (e.g., Google Gemini AI). You are solely responsible for obtaining and managing these API keys in accordance with the terms of the respective service provider.
- LinguaLeap stores API keys locally in your browser's local storage if you choose the "Remember API Key" option. We do not transmit your API key to our servers unless strictly necessary for a specific backend-proxied API call where you have explicitly initiated such an action. You use this feature at your own risk and are responsible for the security of API keys stored in your browser.
- You are responsible for all usage and charges incurred through your API keys. LinguaLeap is not liable for any costs, damages, or issues arising from your use of third-party APIs.
5. Termination
- We may terminate or suspend your access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.
- Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
- We are not responsible for any loss of data that may result from the termination of your access to the Service. You are solely responsible for backing up any data you wish to preserve.
6. Limitation of Liability

Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how LinguaLeap AI ("LinguaLeap," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website and services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. We provide this Service "AS IS" and make no guarantees regarding the privacy or security of your data.
1. Information We Collect
- Information You Provide: This includes text prompts, uploaded files (text or images if applicable), language selections, custom word lists, API keys (if you provide and choose to store them locally), and feedback or reviews you submit. You are responsible for the sensitivity of the information you provide.
- Automatically Collected Information / Local Storage: We use local storage in your browser to save your preferences (like theme), learning progress, statistics, history of generated content sets, and SRS (Spaced Repetition System) data. This data remains on your device. Its security is dependent on the security of your device and browser. LinguaLeap is not responsible for unauthorized access to this locally stored data.
- Cookies: We use cookies for essential site functionality and preferences.
- Necessary: For basic site operation like theme preferences.
- Firebase (for PIN sharing/loading): If you use the PIN-based sharing/loading feature, data is temporarily stored on Firebase Realtime Database, governed by Google's privacy policies. The security of data on Firebase is subject to Google's practices, not ours.
- Third-Party API Interactions: When you use features that interact with third-party APIs (like Google Gemini AI), the data you provide for those specific interactions (e.g., prompts, text for translation) is sent to those third-party services. Their use and security of your data are governed by their respective privacy policies, over which we have no control.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve our Service.
- To personalize your experience (e.g., remembering your theme).
- To enable learning features like SRS, progress tracking, and history, all primarily stored locally on your device.
- To process your requests, such as generating learning content or fetching images via third-party APIs.
- To respond to your feedback and reviews, should you choose to provide them.
- To facilitate sharing and loading of content/history via PINs if you use this feature (data is temporarily on Firebase).
3. Information Sharing
- We do not sell your personal information.
- With Third-Party Service Providers: When you use features relying on third-party APIs, relevant data is shared with them to fulfill your request. Their use of data is governed by their privacy policies. We are not responsible for how these third parties handle your data.
- For PIN-Based Sharing/Loading: If you generate a PIN to share content or history, the associated data is stored temporarily on Firebase Realtime Database. This data is not publicly indexed but is accessible via the PIN. You are responsible for the PIN's confidentiality. Sharing a PIN makes the associated data accessible to anyone with that PIN.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
4. Data Security and Storage
- Most of your learning data (progress, history, custom content, SRS state, API keys if remembered) is stored locally in your browser's local storage. You are solely responsible for the security of your own device, browser, and the data stored within. LinguaLeap provides no guarantees for the security of locally stored data.
- Data shared via PINs is stored on Firebase Realtime Database. We make no specific security guarantees for data on Firebase beyond what Firebase itself provides. Be mindful of what you share via PINs, as this data becomes accessible to others.
- While we may implement some measures for information submitted through our review form or other direct backend interactions, no internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information you transmit to us or store on the Service.
5. Your Choices and Rights
- Local Data Management: You can clear your browser's local storage to remove all locally stored LinguaLeap data. This action is your responsibility and will reset your progress, settings, and history on that browser.
- API Keys: You can choose not to save your API key. If saved, it is stored locally, and you can clear it. Responsibility for API key security rests with you.
- Cookies: You can manage your cookie preferences through our cookie consent banner and your browser settings.
- PIN Sharing: Use the PIN sharing feature responsibly. Once a PIN is shared, the associated data is accessible by others with that PIN, and LinguaLeap has no control over its further dissemination or use.
- LinguaLeap does not offer formal data access, correction, or deletion rights beyond your ability to manage locally stored data through your browser.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, please contact us.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
